We have had a few guests ask if they're allowed to have a read of our cook books. The answer is absolutely yes! Just pop them back after having a read. There are some good ones up there. A few chef must haves, a few of my favourites (Dishoom/Dessert Fourplay) and 2 copies of Larousse!

SOMETHING SPECIAL - OUR GIVNG TREES 🎄❤️

What’s so special about these little red tags? The names might be made up, but these are the real Christmas wishes of real children, fleeing domestic violence locally.

On both of the Christmas Trees in Storehouse Kitchen you’ll see lots of these red tags. Our hope is that our lovely customers, team and other local businesses will help us to create a magical Christmas for children who would otherwise get nothing. (Which just breaks my heart)

Between Kirsty and Iain, we’ve already taken 4 tags and would keep going if we could, (we’ll probably end up taking a few more) but what an incredible thing it would be to be able to drop off bundles of presents for all those lovely children this Christmas ❤️

They’re not asking for a lot; books, jigsaws, a football, sensory toy…

You don’t need to be in to eat, feel free to just pop in and grab a tag! Pop to the shop, wrap it up and drop it back in by the 10th December. There’s also a QR code option on the back for those with a bit less time.

I hope we can all come together for this amazing cause!

CHRISTMAS MORNING GET TOGETHER 10AM - MIDDAY

It is the most wonderful time of the year. But for some the hardest. We are very fortunate to have wonderful parents, Step Parents, siblings and three amazing children. However we are very aware this is a fortunate position to be in.

We are a blended family and Santa goes to the other Mummy and Daddy's for the SHK babies to open their presents and we often have a bacon butty and a brew as we wait for them to join us. So we thought we would extend the invite to those who might also find themselves a little lost and alone on Christmas morning.

On Christmas day we will be opening our doors for a couple of hours to have a little get together, for those who have no one to share Christmas with. Kirsty will be making the coffees, I will be making the bacon sandwiches, Nannie Sal (Mum) will have made the mince pies and the Christmas songs will be playing and we can have a little get together. Kirsty might even sing jingle bells.

We are a new business so if you do want something a little livelier than a brew or a fresh juice we will have our bar open but sadly we can't give this away (I’m sorry if money wasn't real you could have the lot for me)

So now I have rambled on after a few after work beers with the team i would love it if you could share this far and wide so nobody has to spend Christmas morning alone. Warning - I am a hugger, I love Christmas and can't wait to hopefully spread some joy and share some butties.

We made a start on a soup, some sticky toffee pudding, cooked alot of bacon (Joshies favourite) and helped John organise his meat delivery.
A really wholesome morning. Joshie has great knife skills, uses his dad’s alphabet tattoo to spell out words and his talker device to communicate. Along with the best high fives and hugs going.
The charity Josh & Dad run gifted Eli a talker device earlier in the year and will be a great tool for Eli to communicate with us when hes up to speed with the technology. Also great to see @j_94c & @jack_wil20n interacting brilliantly with Joshie.
